KBox Karaoke Bar & B’churrasco Restaurant



The unique architectural conversion of this 2-level, Heritage Victoria registered warehouse in Melbourne’s CBD into KBOX Karaoke Bar and the B’Churraasco Restaurant was a special, and complex project for Method. The project’s scope included construction of 21 soundproof rooms and further amenities on the ground floor for KBOX, as well as additional special facilities for B’Churrasco’s restaurant on the first floor including bar, terrace, commercial kitchen, prep area, cool-rooms, and further amenities.
The project was designed and constructed according to Heritage Victoria guidelines. The building was completely stripped back to a shell and rebuilt to achieve a 5-star energy rating including water blasting the existing brick and bluestone walls. For the building’s new use, the installation of structural steel plates was added to the existing timber trusses to carry the weight of the equipment located on the roof.

The interior finishes included laser cut ply, recycled timber bench tops, and extensive use of glass and recycled timber flooring throughout. We are proud to say that despite the complex nature of the project, all work was completed on time and to budget.
